I am a huge country music
fan. This blog will be dedicated to the country artists and songs of today. But more
importantly, I will be presenting new country music on every blog and
discussing what makes it amazing, while also giving a little background
information about it.
What makes me love country
music? Every song, every lyric, every melody touches my heart. I truly feel
that country music is the only music that I can relate to. Conway Twitty said, "A good country
song takes a page out of somebody's life and puts it into music." Country music isn’t about money, fame,
or sex. It’s about life experiences, what life teaches you, loving and losing,
and the trials and tribulations that everyone experiences on a daily basis. It
is truly relatable music, and there isn’t a single person on this planet that
could listen to a song of the country music genre and think that it didn’t
relate to their life. Country music has something for everyone.
Country music was sculpted by
such artists as Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, Hank Williams, Merle Haggard, and Loretta
Lynn. The songs of these artists were based on heartache, living in the South,
being dirt poor, drinking, and God. They were written in a time where working
hard and loving hard were the basis of a good life. You got out of life what
you put into it-the true value of American living.
Today’s country music has not
deviated much from that of years ago. The artists of today often talk about
those of yesterday and pay homage to the road that they have paved for them. Although
the artists of today aren’t all steel and fiddles, there are a few key artists
that stick to their roots. Country music is the music of America and the
experiences of the people. Rip a page out of any diary and it would make a
great country song.
So there’s my introduction
for this blog. Each week will be a different artist or song with a different reason as
to why you should take a listen. Country music is passion. And I’m passionate
about country music.
“If life stayed the way it wasand lovers never fell out of loveif memories didn’t last so longif nobody did nobody wrongif we knew what we had before it was goneif every road led back homethis would be the very last country song”
